Mariah Sorby, Ph.D.

Mariah has extensive training in psychology and law and has over 5 years of experience designing and conducting interdisciplinary research using various methodological and analytic approaches. Her broad research interests involve applying social and cognitive theory to understand biases in juror perceptions and decisions.

She most recently completed an intensive postdoctoral fellowship with the University of North Dakota’s Behavioral Health Initiative, through which she gained experience in community-based research, grant writing, and developing program evaluation frameworks.

Mariah also previously worked for Youthworks of North Dakota in their short-term care and outreach programs and is deeply committed to improving positive outcomes for at-risk and justice-involved youth.
